S&P 500 falls for fifth consecutive day

Stocks open lower

The S&P 500 is down 22 points on the heels of a 22 point decline yesterday. It's the fifth day of declines and further underscores the drop below the 200-day moving average.

This market has been a technicians dream. The rally stalled out right at the late-Oct/Nov highs and has been on the retreat ever since.
