Situation in Manila has ended peacefully say Saudi Airlines - Livesquawk

Glad that's been put to bed

We're still no clearer on what actually happened but thankfully it looks like nothing.

Whether or not the headlines were moving markets, there's been a reversal in EURUSD and yen pairs. EURCHF is still offered and USDJPY is doing nothing.

We've also got to take the current low liquidity into account with most players sitting on their hands waiting for the BOJ and FOMC.

Update 09.57 GMT:

This from ITV News:

The Saudi Arabian airlines aircraft landed in the Philippines on Tuesday after its pilot told traffic control the plane was "under threat".

Saudi Arabian television reported that flight 872 was isolated at Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport after setting off from the sea city of Jeddah.

Local media later announced the hijacking threat was false and that the incident was over.

Manila airport's general manager Edmund Monreal said: "It is fortunate that upon landing... the crew said they made a mistake.

"However, we can never play around with safety and security.

"It (the button) was unintentionally pushed. But the problem is it was pushed twice".

Mr Monreal added that the plane would be thoroughly checked as a safety precaution.
