September advance retail sales
- Prior month -0.1% vs. -0.2% previously reported
- Ex auto 1.0% vs 0.9% estimate. Prior month revised higher to 0.5% from 0.2%.
- Ex auto and gas 0.5% vs +0.4% estimate. Prior month revised to 0.1% from -0.1%
- Control group 0.4% vs. +0.4% estimate. No revision.
- The month on month gain is the highest since April 2015
The data was about as expected. The headline number was a little lower but the revision was a little better (talking about 0.1%). The ex auto and ex auto and gas were better AND there were revisions higher to the prior months.
