The rouble was under pressure earlier in the week from further US sanctions but has since recovered a little following the Russian central bank's decision to suspend FX purchases until the end of September.
But in terms of finding a long-term solution, the prospects are also bleak - like most other current negotiations/discussions/disputes with the US tend to be.
