Trump speaks on budget and China
Pres. Trump is speaking to reporters and says:
- Big team in China trying to make a deal, we'll see what happens
- CHina very much wants to make a deal
- He is eager to work with both sides on a budget deal
- He can't say he is happy about the immigration deal
- Will have a meeting on immigration deal later on Tuesday
- Another partial government shutdown appears unlikely
- Says will not meet China's Xi at the end of the month at least now, but expects to meet with Xi to close out the trade deal
- Still considering a national emergency on the border wall.
- Would consider pushing March 1 deadline to close a deal with China, but would prefer not to
