A WSJ/NBC poll shows that 41% of Americans surveyed thinks the tax plan is not a good idea
The survey was conducted on 13-15 Dec, with 900 adults participating in the survey.
The 41% number is higher than a poll that was done in October - of about 35%. Less than 1/4 of respondents said the tax bill was a good idea.
Meanwhile, other parts of the survey showed that:
- 38% believed Trump colluded with Russia during the 2016 presidential campaign, 35% said no, 26% unsure
- 41% said Congress should begin impeachment hearings to remove Trump as POTUS, 54% said no
The reasons for them thinking the tax bill is a bad idea is mostly because they don't believe that it will cut taxes for the middle class or for their own family. More than 2/3 of respondents said the law was designed mostly to help corporations and the wealthy.
WSJ/NBC indicated that the margin of error for the survey was about +/- 3.27%.
