For many of us the prospect of North and South Korea at peace will be a wonderful result for the Korean Peninsula. A denuclearised and co-operative North Korea has the potential of a great new future for the region. The end to a long war.
However, don't expect a boost to risk assets with any firm deal. The general wisdom is that, 'you can't hedge against a nuclear war'. Very little would have been trading on a risk-premium due to North Korea. So, if a deal is done, expect a bit of euphoria in the markets, but it will fade pretty quickly.
