According to a report by Russian news agency, TASS
- Iran wants to discuss with Russia on quotas before 22-23 June
- Iran wants to take part in OPEC+ monitoring committee
The sources cited here are unidentified people on the OPEC+ technical committee. Just in case you need a refresher, the schedule this week is for OPEC members to meet on 22 June and for OPEC+ discussions on 23 June.
But it's not really a surprise that there isn't a consensus reached considering that Iran and Venezuela has already been reported to be against any output increase - so it makes sense that they won't see eye to eye on what is "optimal" in terms of output growth from the OPEC+ agreement.
Regardless, oil is liking the news as it means further complications in trying to get an output increase. WTI now trades to session highs of $65.55 from $65.30 levels earlier.
