OECD leading indicator tells us what we already know – Growth is crap in the euro area

The latest OECD leading indicator was out a few moments ago and unsurprisingly it follows the same sort of pattern we saw in the IMF global outlook report yesterday.

The main OECD area indicator was unchanged at 100.4 in August while the euro area fell to 100.7 from 100.8 and the cycle outlook was “growth losing momentum”

There’s not too many positive stories on the list and the best it get’s for a lot of countries is an outlook of “stable”.

We’re still a long way off the boom times, if we see them again at all.
