NZD/JPY a strong performer in Asia morning trade

Yen crosses are higher with USD/JPY bouncing from just below 108.95.

Meanwhile NZD/USD took its lead from the jobs data, which was outstandingly solid with a huge drop in unemployment:

• NZ Q2 Unemployment rate 4.0% (vs. expected 4.5%) & Employment change +1.0% q/q (vs. expected +0.7%)

Prompting further confidence about an imminent rate hike from the RBNZ, the next meeting is August 18:

• Outlook for an RBNZ rate hike on August 18 - most analysts saying its a done deal
