New Zealand - ANZ's survey of consumer sentiment for May

+0.4% m/m to 121.0

  • From last month's result of -5.9% m/m to 120.5

Not much of a move higher, but still. At 121 its just above its average level since the series began.

ANZ on the result:

  • Middle of the road
  • steady in May
  • consumers neither exuberant nor alarmed

ANZ citing:

  • strong jobs market
  • low interest rate
  • consistent with around 2% GDP growth
