NZ data - ANZ Consumer Confidence (March): +0.8% m/m (prior -0.7%)

New Zealand data on the consumer. yesterday we got another wobbly reading on business confidence:

Consumer confidence during March has risen, from 120.8 in Feb. to 121.8, which puts it around average levels.

ANZ's summary:

  • Perceptions of current conditions fell 1 point, while the future conditions index rose 2 points.
  • The proportion of households who thinks it's a good time to buy a major household item fell 1 point.
  • Moves were pretty much rounding errors: the Current Conditions Index fell 1 point to 125, while the Future Conditions Index lifted 2 points to 120.
