  • Spending 0.2% vs 0.3% exp m/m. Prior 0.3%. Revised to 0.4%

  • Real spending 0.1% vs 0.1% prior m/m

  • PCE 1.4% vs 1.5% exp y/y. Prior 1.4%

  • 0.0% vs 0.2% exp m/m. Prior 0.2%. Revised to 0.3%

  • Core PCE 1.6% vs 1.7% exp y/y. Prior 1.7%. Revised to 1.8%

  • 0.1% vs 0.1% exp m/m. Prior 0.1%

That's a kick in the cods for core PCE. A tick down is one thing but we're two off last month with the revision. The income/spending numbers aren't the greatest either but have been mooching around the 0.XX's for ages.

The dollar takes a tumble as the inflation numbers drop. One of the messages from the Fed has been that inflation is not only expected to hold up but to gain too. We've just broken the week's uptrend to trade down to 117.33. Next support will be around yesterday's lows at 117.10/15.
