Nothing but silence still from US-China trade talks

For all the market anticipation and worries, nothing is being heard so far

We only heard from US Treasury secretary Mnuchin earlier that they are "having very good conversation" with their Chinese counterparts. Mnuchin commented as he left the hotel this morning. Wilbur Ross and Peter Navarro declined to comment.

All we know is that the US has turned over to China "a detailed list of asks", but there's no clear indication yet on what China will agree to.

Well, it wouldn't be all too surprising if we don't hear from US officials until they actually get back to Washington over the weekend. They're reported to be leaving Beijing today, and as the clock ticks down the time for that draws even closer.
