North Korea's letter to Mike Pompeo has a big warning
Trump had called off a visit to North Korea by secretary of state Mike Pompeo after a letter was received from North Korea, believed to be addressed to Pompeo after the visit was announced last week.
No details have been released yet but CNN is now reporting that it comes with a warning that denuclearisation talks 'may fall apart'. The report is citing three sources with direct knowledge on North Korea's position and says that Pyongyang is unhappy with the fact that the US has been unwilling to replace the armistice agreement that ended the Korean War with a more permanent and legally binding treaty.
Trump has been hinting for a second meeting with Kim Jong Un for a while now but it sure looks like Kim is very much unwilling to give up his nuclear plans (what a shocker /s) and now it looks like tensions between the two are starting to build again.
Gonna be a fun run-in to the midterms if this starts to bubble up.
