The Bundestag vote on the Greek bailout will be impassioned with a reported 62% of Germans opposing. Germany’s biggest selling newspaper, Bild, has a headline that says STOP and “Bild appeals to all MPs, do not proceed with this folly!” (It also has some uniquely European features on the cover)
But Merkel’s party should easily have the votes to pass it. Some coalition members may rebel but the opposition Greens and the SDP have pledged their support.
