Bloomberg is saying that CBRT governor Cetinkaya was believed to have attended a meeting between Erdogan and a special envoy for Iran's president, but after the meeting Erdogan met up with Cetinkaya alone in an additional meeting.
Earlier reports were saying that Cetinkaya is believed to be present to brief Erdogan about efforts to boost trade with Iran in local currencies, but now it raises further questions on why the two met separately in a meeting that wasn't made public.
Yesterday, the Turkish lira gained on the back of news the two are set to meet but later surrendered gains when the meeting was believed to be nothing to do with the lira's free fall.
