The Japanese Nikkei 225 index has ended the day sharply lower, continuing the trend for the region. It lost 288 pts or 3.81% to end the day at 7,280 just off its lows of 7,234. Banking woes globally continue to weigh on the Asian equity markets today with sellers active in the Japanese automakers.
