Tokyo's main index closes higher on the day but...

It closes near the lows for the day. At one point, the index was higher by more than 3% but we're now seeing it close near the low points. Sentiment is still very much fragile right now, as the Hang Seng is on the verge of flipping and China's Shanghai Composite is now down by 1.6% on the day.
