A subdued session for Asian equities to round off the week
Asian equities were unable to follow in the rebound and gains in tech stocks from Wall Street, with sentiment looking rather subdued today resulting in minor losses across major indices in the region. Of note, the Hang Seng index is weighed down as Tencent shares are the main drag in trading so far.
Chinese equities traded lower for the most part and even the Nikkei is closing the day at flat levels as Japanese stocks fail to be inspired by gains in US trading overnight.
US equity futures are also a tad softer - down by 0.1% - and that isn't helping to provide much direction for other risk assets as we move towards European trading.
