Tokyo's main index closes lower on the day

Asian stocks are all lower on the day following weak performances by their European and US counterparts overnight. And that sentiment is very much carrying on here today.
Chinese stocks are also taking a beating following the lunch break with the Shanghai Composite now down 0.9% while the Hang Seng index is leading losses in the region down by 2.0% at the moment.
