Tokyo's main index closes at the lows for the session

The rout in Chinese stocks is feeding off negative sentiment in US equity futures and also in Japanese equities today. The Nikkei was down around 1% heading into the final hour of trading, but extended losses elsewhere saw sentiment deteriorate and it closes the day at the lows. USD/JPY only dragged lower a little as a result, but the declines here is at least helping to keep other yen pairs lower on the day.
