Tokyo's main index closes lower on the day

The Nikkei isn't spared from the bloodbath in Asian equities today as trade war jitters make for risk-off trading so far. The index closes at the lows and USD/JPY is also trading at session lows now at 109.56.
Meanwhile, the Hang Seng index is down 2.5% on the day while China's Shanghai Composite is down by 3.2% currently in what is an ugly day of trading for Asian stocks.
