Tokyo's main index inches higher following gains from Wall St overnight
The index is closing off the highs for the day though, despite optimism from US equities in overnight trading where we saw stocks end at their highs amid record closes in the S&P 500, Nasdaq and the Dow.
With US markets closed today, there is little direction for risk sentiment in general as European futures point to near flat levels at the open. That in turn is giving currencies not much to work with to begin the session as major currencies are less than 0.1% changed against the dollar currently. USD/JPY holds flat at the moment at 107.81.
