Tokyo's main index closes higher as dovish Fed lifts Asian equities
Asian stocks are performing better today with Chinese equities leading gains for the most part after a more dovish signal from the Fed overnight. With the US central bank shaking off its 'patience' stance and erring towards rate cuts, it has given equities a helping hand to move higher since overnight trading.
The more positive sentiment is continuing into the new day as well with US equity futures up by 0.4% currently. But with global bond yields slumping amid a further fall in Treasury yields, it is still keeping the likes of gold and the yen bid as we begin the session.
