Tokyo's main index leads gains in Asian trading

However, the index pared most of its earlier gains in the day as US equity futures look tepid in trading to begin the session. With Chinese equities also erasing gains to flat levels on the day, Asian equities aren't really inspiring a lot of confidence ahead of European trading and that is something that equity investors will take note of.
It signals that market sentiment remains relatively fragile still and all other markets aren't willing to take the lead until Wall Street gives it the all clear.
