Tokyo's main index closes a little higher on the day

A weaker yen is also contributing a little to the gains that we're seeing in Japanese stocks but the mood remains a little tepid after the declines seen in the last week. Chinese stocks on the other hand are seeing a much needed rebound with the Shanghai Composite now up by almost 2% on the day and the Hang Seng index is also up by 1.5% currently.
