Tokyo's main index closes higher on the day

Equities are faring a little better in Asia on the back of some optimism that US and China can work something out. China is reported to make a $200 bn trade concession, but realistically it's not feasible in my view. It's just wishful thinking and more of a gesture than actually a solution.
