Tokyo's main index closes at the highs for the day

A U-turn for Japanese equities as it climbs off the lows to close higher. The index spent almost the entire day lower, but turned black heading into the final half hour of the close.
That's helping to lift the mood in USD/JPY and keep yen pairs underpinned for the time being. The former is now trading back above 105 at 105.06 - session highs for the day.
