Nikkei 225 closes higher by 0.48% at 21,528.23

Tokyo's main index closes higher as stocks are boosted by trade optimism

Nikkei 25-02

The more optimistic tones coming out from US-China trade negotiations are helping to boost Asian equities and that has helped the Nikkei post a decent gain to start the week, despite a subdued trading range.

So far, Chinese stocks are the biggest beneficiary from the more positive sentiment and that's not really surprising. They were also the biggest losers last year from tariffs and the lack of progress at the time, so it only makes sense that they stand most to gain - more so if you include the valuation perspective.
