Tokyo's main index closes higher on the day

A positive day for Japanese stocks but as per other asset classes, it's been a very much subdued trading session for the most part. The rest of the market still looks tepid with US equity futures very much flat right now. The Hang Seng index is up 0.5% while the Shanghai Composite is down 0.4% at the moment.
