Tokyo's main index closes marginally higher in mixed session
It's been a bit of a sluggish day for Asian stocks as equities in general are left with little direction to act upon. Wall St pared gains to end near the lows but European equities finished strongly in overnight trading. That is leaving risk with little to go on as we begin the day with Chinese stocks trading near the lows currently.
All eyes will be on Tencent later in the day though as they will be reporting earnings after the close and that will keep markets on edge for the time being. Expectation for that is a bit bearish and that is one of the reasons why we're seeing Chinese stocks trade lower (that and oil stocks being hammered) with the Hang Seng down 0.6% and the Shanghai Composite down 0.8% currently.
