The NZ government announced it'd be issuing a 'green bond' - these are used to fund environmental &/or climate initiatives and transitioning to a low carbon economy.
Other sovereigns have already issued such bonds, such as the UK, Germany, France. The bonds are issued at lower interest rates (relative to conventional govt boinds) to money managed by sustainable funds & those with ESG (environment, social and sustainability) mandates.
