  • After its $4.4 billion 3rd quarter loss, Freddie Mac, the U.S. backed mortgage financier, requested $6 billion in additional funding from taxpayers. Homeowners are still falling behind on their obligations, and their $3.6 billion set aside for loan losses is not large enough. From the Financial Times.
  • U.S. payroll numbers for October will be released this morning. A gain of about 95,000 is expected after an increase of 103,000 in September. The small gains are not able to budge the unemployment rate at 9.1%. From Bloomberg News.
