More Trump:
- we have not started with Canada yet
- wanted to see if deal with Mexico was possible first
- trade deal with Mexico is very special for manufacturers and farmers
- if Canada wants to negotiate fairly we will do that
- the easiest thing to do would be to put Canadian cars
- we could do a separate deal with Canada or make it them part of deal with Mexico
- Will talk to Canada president very soon
- Mexico is promise to start immediate purchase as much farm products as possible
- This is not the right time to talk to China about trade but eventually it will be the right time
- Mexican Pres. adds that he hopes that the part with Canada will materialize in a quick fashion
Trump is taking a hard line with regard to Canada. This is not over.
Of interest is remember the "agreement" with EU that they would be buying farm products from the US immediately. Trump uses the same language with Mexico. Whether it happens is uncertain.
The USDCAD has moved back higher on the uncertainty and hard ball tactics by Trump and retests the broken 100 day MA at 1.29886.
