May speaking via a spokesman
Headlines hitting the wires from UK PM May's spokesman:
- Technical notices in August and September will set out sensible precautions in the event of no deal Brexit, which would also have consequences for the EU.
- There are no plans to involve the army in 'no deal' provisions.
This is in addition to Mark Carney speaking on Brexit earlier in the session. Within that earlier blog, I mentioned a sky poll:
"...a sky poll just released that indicates half of UK voters support a referendum on the Brexit deal and leaving with no deal or staying."
Check out the @EuropeElects Twitter account for more detail on each of the polls such as this:
"European Membership Referendum
Remain: 58%
Leave EU with no deal: 32%
Leave EU with deal suggested by government: 10%
Sample Size: 1,446
Date Range: 20/07/19-23/07/18"
However, polls on controversial political issues in 2018 are all but useless in my opinion. If your opinion is to leave the EU immediately, a regular Joe isn't going to say it publicly because he'll get called a racist.
