More on that South Korean missile firing "targeting North Korea's nuclear test site"

South Korean media Yonhap reporting some headlines that, to me at least, appear very misleading

(bolding is mine)

  • South Korea's military said Monday it conducted a combined live-fire exercise targeting North Korea's nuclear test site

Then, more clarity from Yonhap (bolding is mine):

  • In the drill, the Hyunmoo surface-to-surface missile and the F-15K's long-range air-to-ground missile accurately hit designated targets in the East Sea, according to the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS).
  • The South's military, in particular, said the range to the simulated targets were set in consideration of the North's Punggye-ri nuclear test site in its northeastern province.

Here is the tweet from Yonhap:

Sheesh ....

maybe its just me but I reckon

  • "targeting North Korea's nuclear test site"

that is very misleading.

I saw plenty of retweets and tweets using those words ... I glanced at yen rates and they were not moving too much so I concluded the "targeting North Korea's nuclear test site" was not what it seemed, hence my more restrained tweet and post:
