I posted yesterday on where we were at and what's to come. It moves so quick, time for the next one!
On Friday there will be more negotiation. Spain has threatened not to agree to the deal unless the situation on Gibraltar is resolved (between a rock and a hard place they are …. !).
- On Saturday UK Prime Minister May travels again to Brussels for a final round of talks with European commission president, Jean-Claude Juncker
- On Sunday is the EU leaders summit, at this stage it looks likely the deal will be signed off … but hey, this is Brexit and you never know.
OK, then the serious domestic work begins in the UK as parliament debates the deal
- From what I gather this commences December 10 but again, this is uncertain and could begin sooner
- There are both opposition and government MPs saying they will oppose it, so May faces a test getting it approved
- If parliament rejects it then things get messy (as in, "you ain't seen nothing yet" messy), the options appear to be a no deal exit, a general election, or even perhaps another referendum. this is so up in the air …
There is an EU summit on December 13 and 14. We might well see PM heading back to brussels for more negotiation then.
