Mexico's manufacturing PMI from Markit slipped to 50.7 in August from 52.1 in Juy. A number over 50 still represents expansion but the weakness may have reflected NAFTA worries ahead of the latest US-Mexico breakthrough.
Markit also highlighted shortages.
"It's clear that production was hampered by material shortages," economists at the firm said.
