UK PM May's spokesperson out with a statement 3 July
- will respond to pay review recommendations for teachers, police and some other public workers in normal way later this
Mounting pressure on May from her own Cabinet to remove pay caps for public sector workers. I repeat my week-end comments that I can't see her still being in charge by year-end ,maybe even after Summer recess of parliament.
The BBC has more on that story here.
Also out from the PM's spokesman:
- not aware of any plans for US President Trump to visit in next few weeks
- plans for state visit will be set out in due course
There has been talk in UK media about Trump visiting his golf resort in Scotland at short notice in the next 2 weeks during his scheduled visit to the G20 summit and Bastille Day celebrations.
Trump not expected to hold hands with May again just yet
