Andrea Leadsom has just announced her withdrawal from the race as expected 11 July 2016
Despite last-minute pleas from her team Leave campaigjner Leadsom has stepped down saying:
- Theresa May may be best placed to negotiate Brexit talks
- I do not believe I have sufficient support to lead a strong and stable govt
It appears to me that Leadsom has realized that she's just not up to it and her motherhood comments showed many in the rest of the country too. A shame really because I thought she was by far the brightest on either side in the last BBC debate prior to the vote with Johnson ducking many questions and deferring to her.
So, the UK votes for Brexit and now all the principal Brexiteers are out of the frame to lead the UK through the murky waters. Funny ol' world.
