Yesterday Australian Prime Minister Turbull set two conditions for a party room meeting to decide the leadership
If the conditions are met the meeting will go ahead at noon (Sydney time), which is 0100GMT
The conditions:
1. Turnbull is waiting on advice from the Solicitor-General to decide whether the main challenger (Mr Dutton) is eligible to sit in Parliament. The advice from the Solicitor-General is the only valid, legal advice on the question, no other opinions matter (even those in the internet comments!)
- So far (as I post) the advice has not been received.
2. And, Turnbull requires a letter signed by a majority of Liberal Party members of parliament calling for a meeting.
- Ditto on this, as of this post this has not been received.
I'll keep ForexLive informed of developments.
AUD has had a shocker ...
