Juncker comments
- We have no incentive no desire to use Irish backstop safety net
- We do not know what the UK parliament is in favor of
- Withdrawal agreement remains the only deal possible
So lets say the EU sticks to this. What have they got to lose? They know that the UK parliament will block a no-deal Brexit and they also know that parliament won't support this deal. So the result is that the UK extends Article 50 and stays in the EU.
