Japan's GPIF announces record profits in Q4 2016

The world's largest fund out with latest results 3 March

Japan's $1.2trln Government Pension Investment Fund says it made a record USD 92bln between Oct-Dec 2016.

Not a bad quarter's work and throwing some sand in the face of a Bloomberg report earlier in the week that said the GPIF were struggling to beat the stock market.

Japan's govt spokesman Suga has been quick to jump on the record profit and says it will contribute to pension stability.
