Japan PM speaks
Japan's Abe is commenting about the US/No. Korean talks.
He says:
- Meaningful that N. Korea promised complete denuclearization of Korean Peninsula
That is the only comment so far, or reported.
The wording of the comment does not go unnoticed by the closest risk to aggressive military action by N. Korea. He uses the word "promised" and "complete" in his comment which volley's the ball back to Kim's court to see if he is indeed true to those words (and trusting). That will be what the world is looking towards going forward.
As far as I can tell, there was not mention of the 12 Japanese abductees that Abe specifically urged Pres. Trump to bring up/negotiate at the meetings with Kim Jong Un. Diplomatically, if it was not breached, it could be viewed as a slight to PM Abe and the Japanese people. Abe spent a lot of time talking about their release as a topic of extreme importance to him and the Japanese people.
