Japan Nikkei/Markit Manufacturing PMI April (final): 50.2 (prior 49.2)

The preliminary release for this came in at 49.5.

Final comes in at 50.2, well above its previous and preliminary. A 3 month high.

Some not so bright spots:

• new orders fell on the month
• output also lower

Better:

• business confidence continued higher
