Slight delay in the release by the source. That's a significant miss as consumer confidence towards the Japanese economy continues to take a nosedive since last year. The latest reading here is the weakest since January 2015.
The index here measures the households' confidence on the economy, a minor indicator of financial confidence in some ways. This just adds to pile of economic data that is continuing to warrant concerns about the government's plans to raise the sales tax in October.
