At 1 pm ET (1800 GMT) the Treasury sells 30-year bonds
Yesterday, a surprisingly low yield at the 10-year note reopening slammed the Treasury curve and took the US dollar down with it. The results are what cracked 115.00 in USD/JPY and the dollar hasn't recovered since.
Today, the focus turns to the long end and the 30-year bond. The Treasury is selling $12 billion at 1 pm ET with the results due a couple minutes afterwards. The when-issued market is putting the yield at 2.915%-2.910% at the moment. That's a step down from 3.152% in the December sale.
