Italy's budget deficit target reported to 'almost certainly' be 2.2%

According to a report by Messaggero

That's a slight downtick from the initial proposal of 2.4%. The report says that prime minister Giuseppe Conte sees about €3.6 billion of budget cuts. Of note, citizens' income is still promised in the proposal so it's not much of a major change.

I still don't think the European Commission will be too fond of this if it is confirmed, but sentiment now is that Italy is at least showing willingness to compromise, even if it's just a little bit.
