Negotiations over forming new government in Italy following the inconclusive election (aren't they always?) are nowhere near over, but there is movement
- 5-Star Movement and the anti-migrant League parties have reached a deal to elect 5-Star's Roberto Fico as president of the lower house & Forza Italia Elisabetta Casellati president of the Senate)
- Matteo Salvini, the leader of the League, "has proved he keeps his word," 5-Star's Luigi Di Maio said in an interview with daily Corriere della Sera on Sunday
- Asked whether his movement could side with the League to form a government, Di Maio did not rule anything out."We have shown we are open (to talk) with everyone for the good of the country as long as the dialogue focuses on the priorities for the people and not for parties," Di Maio said
